Lawless Movie

Update - The movie has been retitled "Lawless".

The Wettest County in the World is an upcoming period crime drama movie directed by John Hillcoat (who brought us The Road) based on the novel of the same name by Matt Bondurant. The screenplay is written by Nick Cave. The cast includes Shia LaBeouf, Tom Hardy, Jessica Chastain, Jason Clarke, Guy Pearce, Gary Oldman, and Mia Wasikowska. Filming is under way, the movie should be released sometime in 2012.

Actor Shia Labeouf has been spotted on the set of the Wettest County in the World movie:

Plot:
"Based on the true story of Matt Bondurant's grandfather and two granduncles, The Wettest County in the World is a gripping tale of brotherhood, greed, and murder.
The story revolves around three brothers who find their bootlegging business under threat in Prohibition-era Franklin County, Virginia."

Here's the cast:
- Shia LaBeouf as Jack Bondurant, the youngest of the three brothers
- Tom Hardy as Forrest Bondurant
- Jason Clarke as Howard Bondurant
- Guy Pearce as Deputy Charley Rakes
- Gary Oldman as Floyd Banner, a gangster
- Mia Wasikowska as Bertha Minnix, a Mennonite preacher's daughter who is the love interest of Jack
- Dane DeHaan as Cricket, Jack's best friend

If the three main actors get along well this could be a great film. Each of them is talented, but need to see how they interact on the big screen.
